Select: Choosing the Wood
Every masterpiece begins in the timber yard. We evaluate large-format suar slabs and aged teak root networks, inspecting annual growth rings, moisture content, natural cracks, and grain contrast. Only timber with sound internal fiber and compelling visual identity is chosen for production.
Shape: Working with Natural Form
Rather than trimming live edges into artificial straight lines, our craftsmen carefully remove fragile outer bark while preserving the undulating living edge. Natural fissures and negative spaces are carefully preserved to showcase the authentic organic morphology.
Craft: Precision Artisan Joinery
To stabilize natural timber tensions and seasonal movement, hand-chiseled butterfly keys (Dutchman joints) made from dense contrasting hardwoods are seamlessly inlaid into the surface. Underneath, heavy-gauge steel expansion brackets accommodate natural thermal humidity cycles.
Finish: Surface & Details
Each piece undergoes progressive multi-stage sanding through ultra-fine grits to achieve an irresistibly silky tactile feel. Surfaces are then sealed with matte protective polyurethane, natural hardwax oils, or crystal-clear epoxy resin, protecting against moisture and UV exposure.
Deliver: Preparing the Finished Piece
Because solid timber pieces possess substantial weight and artistic value, every order is secured in reinforced wooden crating with protective padding. We coordinate direct white-glove transport across Bali, throughout Indonesia, and handle container shipping worldwide.
